From October 15th, till October, 17th 2020, Erasmus Days were held for the fourth time around the world. During these three days, the beneficiaries of the Erasmus + program organized events where they could inform about their projects, share their experience and demonstrate the results achieved.

Volga State University of Water Transport, being an active participant of the Erasmus +program and being involved in KA2 project ProdLog organized a seminar for students enrolled to a newly launched Master’s program in Resource-efficient Production Logistics on October 15th, 2020.  The university staff from the Department of Logistics and Marketing welcomed the students and outlined the key points of a new program as well as presented a new laboratory equipment and software.

The participants were greeted by the head of the Department of Logistics and Marketing, Professor Vladimir Kostrov. He dwelled on the progress of the project, the main participants (universities in France, Germany, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Russia), educational programs implemented in the “VSUVT” (“Resource-efficient Production Logistics” and “Resource-efficient Transport and Logistics Technologies”), current tasks and further perspectives of the project.

Professor of the Department, Dr. Andrey Nichiporuk presented the audience AnyLogic and anyLogistix modeling tools used in a few modules of the program and demonstrated their application possibilities. The students were also given an opportunity to practice in modeling of transport, production and logistics processes on their own. At the end of the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Dmitry Korshunov gave an excursion to the laboratory complex with warehouse rack equipment. This equipment is part of a new laboratory organized at the Department of Logistics and Marketing within the framework of the Erasmus + Prodlog project.
